$30 cash glaze and firing fee to be paid on first session

Thursdays 6:30 – 9:00. 6 x 2.5 hr sessions (no session 1st Thursday of the month)

Teacher: Ingrid Russell. 

Hand building, project based class. This term we further explore handbuilding techniques using stoneware midfire clay. Using a variety of techniques including coiling and slabwork we will create more sculptural works.

APTH6 – Pottery for Adults – Thursdays @ 6:30pm / Ingrid Russell

Beginners and continuers. 

$30 cash glaze and firing fee to be paid on first session

Thursdays 6:30 – 9:00  6 x 2.5 hr sessions (no session 1st Thursday of the month)

Teacher: Ingrid Russell. 

Hand building, project based class. This term we further explore handbuilding techniques using stoneware midfire clay. Using a variety of techniques including coiling and slabwork we will create more sculptural works. We will also try out some more advanced decorative techniques including creating our own underglaze transfers and mono printing.

Optional: Order a basic tool kit and clay for  $50 cash on first session, or clay only $30, by emailing [email protected].

We will be using Blackwattle Buff Midfire clay which is available from Artsup in Kingswood where you can also purchase a basic set of tools.

Materials List:

  • A bag of Blackwattle Buff Midfire clay or similar
  • A set of basic tools including:
  • needle tool, wooden sculpting tool, rubber kidney, metal serrated kidney, metal smooth kidney, feathering tool, small sponge, clay cutting wire
  • Also bring: small sharp knife, scalpel (Exacto knife), toothbrush, apron, some kitchen tidy bags, permanent marker, small jar with tight lid , towel
  • 1 inch (3 cm) goats hair brush – soft for glazing
  • spray bottle (fine)
  • a solid piece of timber to set your work on.
